I can't imagine what it must feel like to talk with a women who has reached out to the DSV hotline looking for a way out, or the social worker who is assigned to a homeless family.
What it must be like for police officers to come on a scene of a women who called because their boyfriend or husband beat her to a pulp and see a child in the corner crying because he or she witness their mom getting beat up.
What it must be like for the therapists to hear the story of a women, man, and/or child(ren) escaping human trafficking.
Or what the social worker must feel like to continually see, hear the stories, and be intimately involved with families of poverty in our communities.
The work is challenging, but rewarding because this important line of work is making a difference in peoples lives everyday - One person, one family at a time.
These non-profits, local government and social service agencies are essential to the life of people who have horrific and tragic experiences.
To do this line of work is selfless. We can't thank them enough for the hard work they do everyday.
My hope there are more who want to do this selfless line of work. A saying in the religious communities - Many hands, make the work light.
His People His Way Ministries Inc partners with non-profit organizations that help victims of DV, human trafficked, those in extreme poverty, the homeless and the African and Caribbean refugees by these efforts through our C. A. R. E. S. approach to individuals and families.
His People His Way Ministries also brings awareness of DV to the appropriate age groups and all ethnicities, communities, colleges, universities, businesses and religious institutions. Knowledge is power, being armed with the right information, is the key to making life changing decisions.
